The Oakhurst Church of Christ are:

BIBLE BASED — We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God which shows us how to live as individuals and directs our life as a Church (2 Timothy 3:16-17).  Because of this you will hear us talk about the Bible a lot and refer to it as a source of guiding principles as we try to live like Jesus in our day to day lives. 

JESUS FOCUSED — We come together each Sunday to worship and honor our Father and His Son Jesus by offering songs and words of praise, encouraging our fellow Christians, and learning how we can better reflect His lifestyle in our own.  We want to be fashioned and molded to be like Him, to walk in His light. Our hope and prayer is that each day finds us a little more like Him and that in all we say and do we honor Him who has so richly blessed us.

PEOPLE CENTERED — For a church to belong to Jesus, it must care about people. His ministry was fashioned by God's redemptive love to save the people of this world (John 3:16).  Jesus died on the cross to bring salvation to all kinds of people (John 12:2). The Holy Spirit was promised as a gift to all who responded obediently to the call of God (Acts 2:38-39). Christians are to do good deeds for all people, Christians and non-Christians (Galatians 6:10). We try to practice these principles through the various ministries of the church and in our personal lives.  

MISSION MINDED — The Oakhurst church of Christ has a history of active involvement in mission efforts around the world.  Following Jesus means reaching out to a lost and hurting world in His name.  From local benevolence ministries to support of work from China to Africa, we believe it is important to share the message of Jesus in ways that are compatible with His character.  We want to do our part in this great task, whether it takes us across the street or around the world.
